Manifesto
Some things are worth preserving.
The Art of Preservation
Long before refrigeration, before preservatives, before "best by" dates, there was preservation.
Every culture found its own way. Peppers became preserves. Fruit became jam. Vegetables became pickles. Simple ingredients became something worth keeping.
Not because it was trendy.
Because it mattered.
Muria exists to preserve more than food. We preserve recipes, traditions, memories, and the quiet rituals that happen around a table—then bring them into the way we cook today.
We don't believe the best flavors belong in the past.
We think they deserve another generation.
Where It Started
For our family, it all started with one pot.
Our mom spent years making a sweet-and-spicy pepper preserve that somehow found its way onto everything; cheese boards, grilled meats, sandwiches, eggs, burgers, crackers, and whatever happened to be sitting on the kitchen counter.
Friends would ask for jars before they left the house.
Then they'd ask for another.
Eventually, we realized we weren't just sharing a family recipe anymore. We were sharing a tradition that deserved to live beyond our own table.
So we bottled it.
Not to reinvent it.
To preserve it.
Meet the Family
Muria is still exactly what it started as; a family business.
Our mom is the heart of every recipe. The original maker. The reason any of this exists.
The rest of us each bring something different to the table. Product development. Branding. Operations. Design. Sales. The countless conversations that turn a family recipe into something people around the country can enjoy.
Every decision still happens around dinner tables, kitchen counters, and the endless group chats (thankfully they're always blue text bubbles).
Some things never change.
We're hoping that's one of them.
Crafted Slowly
We still believe good things take time.
Every jar is made in small batches with real peppers, vinegar, chia seeds, and ingredients you'd actually recognize.
No seed oils.
No artificial preservatives.
No fillers pretending to be food.
Just thoughtful ingredients, cooked slowly until they become something far greater than the sum of their parts.
Turns out "better for you" isn't a marketing strategy.
It's just what happens when you cook with intention.
Looking Forward
Pepper No. 1 is where our story begins.
It isn't where it ends.
Across the world, nearly every culture has its own version of preservation; recipes that transform fresh ingredients into something that lasts longer, tastes deeper, and carries history with it.
Those are the stories we're interested in telling next.
Our goal isn't to make more condiments.
It's to build a modern pantry inspired by generations of preserved flavor, one jar at a time.
A Place on the Counter
We hope Muria becomes the jar you instinctively reach for.
The one that somehow ends up on breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night snacks.
The one that never quite makes it to the back of the fridge.
Because the best food isn't saved for special occasions.
It's shared often.
Welcome to the table!
